Losing a baby – things I’ve learned about miscarriage

I’m so sorry I had a miscarriage at 8months into my first pregnancy. I know your pain and I’m here if you want to talk

The Happy Baby Project

1. You may not realise anything is wrong. You may not bleed, nor feel cramps. In fact, you may be blissfully unaware that there is a problem at all until a scan, when instead of a kicking happy baby, you see a lifeless thing floating asleep, or you see nothing at all.

2. A scan will forever be a hateful thing – rather than excitement at looking at the screen, you will always wish the screen to be turned away from you, expecting a “sorry, there’s no heartbeat”.

3. And while I’m at it, sonographers have the best poker faces in the world. Fact.

4. After the scan, there is a lot of waiting. Waiting for further scans, waiting for tests. Waiting to miscarry naturally or waiting for pills to make you miscarry. Then there is waiting for appointments, waiting for operations to remove tissue. Finally there is waiting for your period to…

How Jessica Mitford Exposed A $48m Scam From America’s Literary Establishment

David Gaughran

Cerf1Jessica Mitford took on the American funeral industry, the California Department of Corrections, and the Ku Klux Klan, but it was her 1970 exposé of The Famous Writers School which led to Time calling her “The Queen of the Muckrakers.” And if a courageous editor hadn’t reversed his decision to kill her story, it might never have happened.

Mitford had been aware of The Famous Writers School’s existence for some time. Anyone who was a frequent reader of newspapers, books or magazines would have seen its ever-present advertisements, inviting aspiring writers to cut out and apply for the free aptitude test. While Mitford was suspicious, she didn’t have anything concrete until her lawyer husband took on a new client.

Bob Treuhaft was approached by a 72-year old widow, living on Social Security, who had cleaned out her bank account to make a down-payment to The Famous Writers School. On the…

Don’t Love me that much… I’m really NOT that Interesting..

Love it! I actually posted this on my facebook when my stalking began

Full Figured Fierce

I wrote this blog back when I was in college for Criminal Justice but it is very very true today… stalking-is-when

Every Breath you take

 Every move you make

Every bond you break

Every step you take

I’ll be watching you

Every single day

Every word you say

Every game you play

Every night you stay

I’ll be watching you

This is the song that was playing when I walking into my luncheon one Friday. I was so excited because I thought I was gonna hob nob with some of the greatest criminal minds in the country, instead I found out that they have a sense of humor. It was to break the ice so that everyone felt comfortable. I have a new found respect for the law..LOL They even joked that they should show the movie “THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY”because everybody was stalking her. But this was no…

I’ll embrace the title of being a bitch

When I stand up for myself and my beliefs,
they call me a bitch.
When I stand up for those I love,
they call me a Bitch.
When I speak, think my own thoughts or do
things my own way, they call me a bitch.

Being a bitch entails raising my children to be strong
people who have a strong sense of personal and social
responsibility, who are not afraid to stand up for what
they believe in and who love and respect themselves for
the beautiful beings they are.

Being a BITCH means I won’t compromise what’s in my heart
It means I live my life MY way. It means I won’t allow
anyone to step on me. When I refuse to tolerate injustice
and speak up against it, I am defined as a bitch.
The same thing happens when I take time for myself
instead of being everyone’s maid, or when I act a little selfish

I am proud to be a bitch!! It means I have the courage and
strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won’t
become anyone else’s idea of what they think ” I should be.”
I am outspoken, opinionated, and determined.
I want what I want, and there is nothing wrong with that.

So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash
every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You WON’T succeed.
And if that makes me a bitch then so be it. I embrace the title
and am proud of it!
